Planning now means you control the timing. Leaving it means the deadline does. Server upgrades rarely involve just one thing. Applications, user logins, file access, backups, and scheduled downtime all need to be mapped out before anything moves. The businesses that get through this smoothly are the ones that started planning months ahead, not weeks.
